Mahāṛṣi Thākur Śrī Śrī Jānakinātha Brahmachāri

Gurudev Thakur Sri Sri Janakinatha Brahmachari was born on January 14, 1965, at 7:30 AM in the small village of Panihati in West Bengal, India, as the first son of Śrī Hārādhan Addya and Śrīmati Bāsanti Devī. His family lineage included devotees of Baba Loknath Brahmachari, and his parents were spiritually inclined, with his father having received yogic techniques from respected yogic teachers.

From an early age, Janakinatha was regarded as a divine child, and many renowned yogis and spiritual figures of his time are said to have gathered to bless him even before his birth. His mother carried him in pregnancy for eighteen months, emphasizing his spiritual uniqueness.

At around fifteen years old, Janakinatha was entrusted with leadership of his ashram and began serving society with two early initiatives: donating clothes to the poor during Durga Puja and providing blankets in winter. He later realized that more impactful service would involve establishing a medical dispensary for the needy. This effort grew into the Śrī Śrī Baba Loknāth Brahmacārī Sevā Prathiṣthān, offering charitable healthcare from 1989 onward.

Driven by the belief that education is essential for societal growth, he founded a free primary school in 1998 called Viṣwa Mānaba Sevā Prāthamic Vidyālaya, which continues to serve hundreds of students. In 2018, he also began distributing wheelchairs to those in need.

Under his guidance today, the ashram’s activities include compassionate free education, medical support for the poor, spiritual talks by eminent speakers, and discussions on moral human duty (Mānava Dharma). Janakinatha’s primary focus is on strengthening moral values in family life and through yogic practice.

Gurudev Janakinatha has also trained numerous yoga teachers internationally in the Loknath Yogic System and helped establish ashram centers in Kolkata, Haridwar, and Chillán, Chile to spread the teachings of Mahayogi Baba Loknath Brahmachari worldwide.

Despite financial challenges, his vision continues to expand: plans include building a hospital, a secondary English school, a dedicated temple for Baba Loknath, student hostels, and women’s vocational training programs to support economic independence.

Gurudev’s approach is not only spiritual but deeply humane and service‑oriented. He considers all his disciples as his children, taking personal responsibility for their spiritual growth and well‑being, and guiding them toward a life of purpose, compassion, and self‑realization.
